They are trying to steal my information and money!

Repeat it out loud. It’s not to scare you, it’s just to be alert. Fraud is becoming more common every day and the chances of it happening to you are high. By being alert you can avoid it.

Here are some tips to prevent fraud:

Whenever you change your online banking information, such as your e-mail address or mailing address, you will receive an automatic alert to the e-mail address on file.

When you make transfers, remember that you have the opportunity to cancel it before it is deposited into the other account.

The different types of fraud that are currently occurring come through:

  • Phone calls
  • Visits from a bank representative or law enforcement agent to your home.

  • Online or mobile banking password
  • Answers to online and mobile banking security questions
  • PIN of your cards

If you receive a call from the Bank requesting this type of information, do not provide your information, hang up immediately and contact us through our chat at orientalbank.com or by calling 787.620.0000.

Most importantly, never share your information unless you are in the branch with us or you have called us. Always stay alert and make the scammer’s job more difficult.

Other important things to know:

  • As a security method if you change the information in your Online Banking account, including your email or mailing address, you will receive an automatic alert to your registered email from Oriental.
