Pay the tax return or go on a trip?

9/5/2023

You’ve been thinking about this for some time: the date to pay the tax return is approaching and the days off of Holy Week are just around the corner. You had thought about taking a short getaway to get out of your routine and rest, but your tax responsibility is keeping you up at night.

Did you know? You can do both, it’s all a matter of organizing and planning.

The first thing you should do is find out how to pay your tax return, how much your contribution is. If you do not have the necessary money, requesting a personal loan is always an alternative.

After knowing this you, can take care of your mini-vacation by choosing the type of getaway you want, according to your budget. This way you can include the amount in the same loan and make a single monthly payment.

Multiple options

Taking a break from your routine is beneficial no matter your budget, the number of vacation days you take or what you do. Whether it is a time of relaxation, a weekend of domestic tourism or adding several days to a trip to a nearby destination, everything will help you recharge your batteries, revitalize your body and clear your mind. We invite you to evaluate several options, based on your budget:

  • $150: From a day spa that will make you float on air by freeing yourself from stress, to a short stay in a parador, this is an alternative for those who have little time available to relax.
  • $300: Hotels and inns on the island offer weekend packages for this amount, or even less, which will give you the opportunity to rediscover our natural beauties. If you have children, ask about the rates (in several places, children under 12 years old do not pay). Likewise, ask about the restaurants within the inn so that you are prepared. If you want to have a little water “in between,” explore the possibility of visiting Vieques or Culebra. You should do this with time now, since our municipal islands are very visited at this time. There you can choose between camping near the spa, renting a vehicle, taking yours on the cargo ferry, looking for a guest house or a hostel. Budgets are varied, so don’t rule it out.
  • $500: If you have a little more budget, consider going to the Dominican Republic, where the cities of Punta Cana and the capital Santo Domingo are the most visited places by Puerto Ricans. Its wide range of “all inclusive” hotels, unsurpassed services and rich gastronomic offer place the neighboring country as a superior tourism option.
  • $1,000: They say that life is tastier at sea. The truth is that a cruise trip is one of the most attractive alternatives we have, since it is available all year round. For a week you can totally disconect and you don’t have to worry about your stay or food. Although prices vary between different cruise lines, remember that you should include taxes to round out your budget. Conducting a good search is always important since there are websites that offer offers of up to 80% off.
  • $1,500: If you like to travel alone, you have countless of options. We will give you two of them, the selection was difficult, because we like them all! One of them is to combine a tour of New York and Niagara Falls. But if you have an adventurous spirit, don’t miss the opportunity to visit Costa Rica, where you can canopy, travel through rapids, enjoy nature reserves and even see volcanoes.

So don’t worry about the proximity of the forms and enjoy a few days of rest.
