Habits to meet your weekly goals

It is very normal for me to receive the following complaints from different leaders regarding their performance: “I am not disciplined”, “I lack focus”, “I feel like I am stalling and not starting”. It is no coincidence that the main motto of my platform is “Done is better than perfect. You look for progress and NOT perfection.” Analyzing my behavior as a businesswoman, I want to share with you 5 habits that help me obtain weekly results in my goals on a professional and personal level:

1. Work on your goals or projects in advance: Projecting how long your goal takes, seeing it in a specific way and putting it into your agenda with detailed tasks allows your objectives to be real. This helps us to work productively on our projects and to fall in love with reality and not get wrapped up in false expectations.

2. Make monthly and weekly planning: Setting a clear date for projects helps us know how much we can promise and what expectations we give to our clients or family members regarding our availability. Sometimes we promise more than our time allows. Let’s be realistic when setting our goals with a date and leaving a margin of error for any eventuality we may face.

3. Prepare your days the night before: Create a checklist of the things you need and leave everything ready to start on time with your agenda the next day, from the clothes you are going to wear to the lunch box with lunch. Plan, execute and you can transform the way you prepare to see results in your day.

4. Have clear priorities: Every day I receive invitations for projects or meetings to which I have to say no. I simply answer: “Thank you for the invitation, but it is not in my priorities at the moment.” We must be clear about what we want so we can focus on building what we will receive. A focused mind achieves more in less time.

5. Create a commitment to yourself: Have the necessary discipline to be consistent in your goal. Committing to yourself is the greatest opportunity you have to shine because you cultivate your happiness from the inside out.

Living focused on taking intentional action to obtain results is a wise way to lead, since you show others that you act more than you talk and while others waste their time you are a leader who makes things happen. Your small victories will give you the opportunity to build healthy self-esteem to design a life you love.
