It is very common that when someone starts their business, just seconds after starting, they are asked “Hello, do you have social networks? That’s when you most likely run to set them up or you set them up automatically when you start and question if it’s worth the effort to have them. Social media is your marketing and public relations department when you start out in business. When you understand that they exist to help you grow, you make peace with the idea of having them and stop thinking that they are unnecessary work, a mentality that unfortunately many business owners have who do not know how to manage them correctly.

The first question that every marketer asks me when the topic of social media is mentioned in a workshop is: How do I increase my sales on social media? That’s why today I want to give you 6 strategies that will help you see more results on your social platforms:

  • Know your customers and where you want them to be: Who are you talking to when you post on networks? When people see your products, are they in the right place to get the attention you need to get them to consume?
  • Streamline transactions: When the customer is willing to give you their money it can’t take forever, this goes from the time it takes to find the product to the final transaction. Try to answer questions quickly and provide all the information so that their decision to buy your product is final. Avoid the famous “message to inbox”, not everyone has the time to wait for you to answer once they write to you.
  • Understand that data is knowledge: Take some time during the week to measure the reach of publications and if you have an online store, measure from where they enter to see your products and services. When you understand the consumer everything is easier in your business.
  • Automate: Don’t live enslaved in the networks. Schedule your publications to go hand in hand with your sales strategy in your business and leave room for spontaneous moments where the content comes out naturally.
  • Be transparent: Misleading your consumer benefits no one. Maybe it paves the way for an initial transaction, but the bad reputation will catch up with you and that won’t do you or anyone else any good.
  • Improve customer service: Listen to that person who is willing to make you part of their budget. Many times their complaints are bittersweet, as their experience may have been bitter, but your feedback will restore sweetness to their transaction and retain them as a repeat customer.

It’s simple, we are the ones who complicate the process. To take your first steps to sell on social media you just need to focus your efforts on building a sales strategy for your business so that social media serves as your loudspeaker and connects you with your ideal customer. Start today and see how exciting it will be to watch your business grow on social media.
