“Will it be fraud?” It’s a question you often think about or hear frequently from other people. We are clear that you must always be on alert so that your money is safe. Protect what you achieved with so much sacrifice.
Therefore, it is important that you know the new ways in which the theft of personal data and access to your account works. What is the current fraud trend? Are you aware? Here are a few:
Vishing:
Vishing is a new scam that combines a voice call and phishing. This dynamic uses a person who poses as a representative of some organization and requests access to your account. Vishing attacks have compromised the systems of several organizations in Puerto Rico. If you have received a call from us alerting you about a transaction on your credit cards, do not share your personal information and contact us directly.
Check Fraud:
You won! But will it be legitimate? This type of fraud occurs when a company offers you a work from home job without telling you all the information an employee needs, sends you a forged check, or other cases. Sometimes a person will contact you to tell you that X amount of money is yours and to return the rest. Don’t fall for this scam.
Text messages with a link:
Do you know how you can compromise your cell phone? Clicking on a fraudulent link. It’s that simple. This link can arrive through a text message and many times the offer or prize may seem real, but you have to take an extra look. Analyze the message before entering the link. Protect your personal information!
We live in a world where you can fall victim to fraud at any time. We don’t want to scare you! We just hope that now you are more than ready to protect your money and personal information. Keep an eye on your transactions and if you see anything strange with your accounts, let us know.
